I was involved in a road traffic accident at the beginning of July 2006. I suffered an injury to my left shoulder and whiplash to my neck. After an eight month wait for treatment on the N.H.S I was referred to PhysioWorld for private treatment. Within two days of my insurance company referring me I had received a telephone call from PhysioWorld and had booked my initial consultation.

I was in a lot of pain and could barely move my left arm. My sleep was disturbed because of the pain and I was feeling very tired and low through lack of sleep.

My consultation was with Kevin Doyle – Physiotherapist

After my examination Kevin took time to explain and demonstrate what had happened to my shoulder. Kevin explained that my shoulder injury involved the supraspinatus tendon and was very aggressive as it had been left untreated for so long.

My treatment sessions were very painful and sometimes I felt like giving up and not going back, but throughout Kevin reassured me that I was receiving the best kind of treatment for my specific injury and that he would get my shoulder back to ‘as normal as possible’

Kevin also explained that maintenance plays a big part in your recovery. He gave me exercises to do and took time to demonstrate so that I fully understood how to complete the exercises effectively.

I am very glad to say that he was right. I have now regained full movement in my arm and shoulder, after my initial course of treatments.

If I ever need physiotherapy sessions in the future, I will not hesitate in contacting Maitland Medical.
